- Does faster spacebar spam make bunny hopping better?
- Not by itself. Bhop in CS2, TF2, Apex and Titanfall depends on pressing jump inside a tiny window after you land, plus strafing with the mouse. Spamming at 8 presses per second just means you hit that window more often by accident; learning the timing, or binding jump to the scroll wheel, does more than speed.
- What is a good spacebar score in 10 seconds?
- Most players land 50 to 70 presses in 10 seconds with one thumb, which is 5 to 7 per second. Scores of 80 to 100 take practice or two-handed techniques, and the numbers in spacebar challenge videos above that usually rely on rolling techniques that would never be usable in a match.
- Why does my mechanical keyboard score higher than my laptop?
- Travel and reset distance. A linear switch like a Red resets a couple of millimetres into its travel, so a light tap registers again quickly. Laptop scissor keys and membrane boards need a near full release before the next press counts, which caps your rate.
- Can I bind jump to the mouse wheel instead?
- In most Source games and many others, yes, and it is the standard way to bhop because the wheel produces several inputs per flick. This page cannot count wheel inputs; use the mouse test to check your wheel instead.
- Will spamming space for a minute hurt the switch?
- No. A mechanical switch is rated for tens of millions of presses and even a membrane keyboard for a few million; a minute of spam is nothing. Your thumb tendon is the part that tires, so stop when it starts to ache.
